I recently installed a Viper 600 ESP alarm system in a 2002 Mazda Protege5; however, two problems have arisen after the install.
1. The driver's side will not lock (but will unlock). All other doors lock and unlock great.
2. When pressing the unlock button on the remote, the doors proceed to unlock twice.
I followed all instructions correctly (including the use of the 1.5k ohm resistor), but I may have overlooked something. Any tips and corrections are greatly appreciated. Thanks again :)

A few things to check...
The driver's door isn't open when your trying to lock it is it? Also your alarm may have a setting that is powering the ignition wire at the same time your trying to lock. If that is the case, the vehicle's computer might be preventing it from locking the driver's door because it thinks the keys are still in the ignition. Built in to help prevent you from locking your keys in the car. Close the doors and put your meter on the igniton wire. Try locking it with the remote. If while your locking it, you see +12 volts on the ignition wire that may be your issue.
Check the programming options for unlocking and set it to single pulse instead of double pulse.

Awesome, thanks for the quick reply. As soon as I get the vehicle back in about a week, I will follow your instructions and post results.

Did you use relays ? You have to isolate lock/unlock circuit to prevent feedback on the lock/unlock alarm line. This is a must for proteges. Especially 2000 and up.
Look at this posting here Notice where I talk about relay isolation.

This is for Francoisxi, try looking for a blue wire that is negative trigger at the hazzard switch.
